Truth
Friday, July 27 – Full Moon Guru Purnima Celebration with Diana Hulet
The word ‘guru’ has its roots in the Sanskrit language, where ‘gu’ means darkness and ‘ru’ stands for the removal of darkness. The festival is celebrated on the first full moon day after Summer Solstice.
Guru Purnima is the day we explore Truth - the day we appreciate our teachers who showed us the way down the path of remembering our Selves. We acknowledge those who opened our minds, bodies and souls - who taught us to see from another perspective and move towards new learning experiences. Truth will set us free.
Join long-time teacher, Diana Hulet, on a Truth-seeking journey to freedom. The journey begins by parking at Uplands Elementary School where you’ll enjoy a 15-minute silent hike through Springbrook Park to Wembley Park.
Strength
Saturday, July 28 – Shiva’s Trident: A Yoga Triathalon with Cynthia Pedraza
Shiva, one of the 3 main Hindu deities, is known as the destroyer. In his hand, he holds a trident - symbolising the three Gunas(tendencies of universal nature), Sattva (being), Rajas (activity) and Tamas (darkness). It also represents three Shaktis, or powers – will, action, and wisdom. At the base of the Trishula all three Gunas and Shaktis meet. The trishula also represents the past, the present and the future.
Taking this idea of the three forces of nature, we’ll begin with a tamasic SUP board paddle from Handful’s founder, Jennifer Cecilia’s house on the SE side of the Willamette. We’ll then transition to land with a 3-mile ragasic run to Wembley Park , where we’ll end with a sattvic yoga & meditation experience led by Cynthia Pedraza. Burning through our past, present, and future, we’ll rise up and float away stronger than ever.
A delicious orangic lunch prepared by Eatin’ Alive will be provided to those interested in hanging out after.

Balance
Saturday, September 22 – Fall Equinox: A Balance of Light & Dark with Wah Khalsa
3-5pm $30
Equinox is the day when the dark roughly equals the light. It marks fall, when nature starts it’s withering process. This is the time to consider the areas of your life that need to be let go of, consider what no longer serves you, gets in your way, and needs to wither.
At the same time, in order to achieve balance, we’ll consider the seeds we planted at the beginning of the year, and that have been steadily growing. Now is the time to reap those benefits.
Wah will lead us in a transformative journey towards inner balance, the place where the chakras are aligned, where mind, body, and spirit truly connect.
